Read, like there won't be a movie.
Game, like the dice rolls don't matter.
Dream, like there is no tomorrow.

Thanks for the Memory

As anyone can tell you, you don't just upgrade memory in a computer:

  • You back up your data, just in case.
  • You unplug everything, and untangle the cords while you're at it.
  • You clean off the desk, clean under the desk, and clean the crud off the keyboard.
  • You then open up the computer.
  • You carefully remove the old memory module from the computer.
  • You mentally slap yourself for not opening the plastic package holding the new memory module.
  • You place the old memory module aside, and open the plastic package with the new memory module.
  • You carefully remove the new memory module from the package and gently place it in the empty slot.
  • You more forcefully push the new memory module in the empty slot until you hear a 'click'.
  • You close up the computer, and plug all the keyboard, mouse and power cord back in to it.
  • You say a prayer to your personal deity while pressing the 'on' switch.
  • You begin to breathe again when the screen comes on with your desktop intact.
  • You then shut down the computer, and connect everything else.
  • You put the old memory module in the plastic package from the new memory module.
  • You restart the computer and make sure everything is still o.k.

Only after all that can you enjoy your new memory upgrade!
